The Communications team engages teams in our brand strategy, key business priorities and target customers. This position provides administrative, logistical, and communications support to the Risk & Insurance Solutions team, a new commercial insurance venture based in Emeryville, California.

RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB DUTIES

% OF TIME

Intake, document, and relay communications from the company’s clients. Insurance agents and commercial insurance holders compose the company’s primary client groups. Receive emails and phone calls from members of these groups, document necessary information, and effectively communicate relevant information to members of the sales and management teams with attention to urgency and prioritization.

Plan and coordinate sales team activities.  Use the company’s MS Excel client database, MS Outlook, and online research tools to coordinate client communications and sales efforts.

Assist in the regular generation of reporting on communications and sales activities using MS Excel and other sales and communications tools as necessary.

Assist the client service team in submission of change requests to carriers and updating the company’s agency management system with changes.

Required:
·       Excellent communication and time-management skills. Ability to communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders via phone, email, and in person, and ability to effectively prioritize and accomplish tasks in a high-workload environment
·       Proficiency in MS Office applications including Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
·       2 or more years experience in an office environment.
·       Basic working knowledge of commercial Property & Casualty insurance
·       Basic working knowledge of the operations of an insurance agency

Preferred:
·       High proficiency in MS Excel
·       Experience in AMS360 or a similar insurance agency management system
·       Familiarity with insurance application development and/or ACORD form use
·       Basic working knowledge of Workers’ Compensation insurance and General Liability insurance

Required:
·       Associates degree or equivalent work experience

Preferred:
·       Current Property & Casualty Broker/Agent licensing in California
·       Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
