POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Assistant Merchant will assist & execute the leadership strategy for the merchandise assortment, may own a small category; support development of brand-right product that leverages intuitive client insights and business strategy. Aid in delivering financial results and maximizing volume/profit through systems management and seamless execution; pattern & understand the competition and relevant trends; partner with cross-functional team; take direction under immediate supervision, exercising a minimal degree of autonomy/decision making.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Complete appropriate pulls to support team in Monday Night Merch Presentation. Complete a portion of ISO for a category or media of focus.
• Assist Associate and Merchant in creating seasonal strategy
• Manage documentation to assist in Target Setting Meetings with Planning and Design
• Partner with Associate on and Merchant on hindsighting an area of the business.
• Organize samples, swatches in preparation for Pagination
• Review and attend meeting with Creative Interface. Partner with Planning to ensure all styles, retails, swatches are set up correctly.
• Manage Fact Sheet process; print fact sheets for samples, and PDF fact sheets for Copy, organize shoot samples as paginated by book, update digital folder and Missing Sample list.
• Manage photo assets by book, recommend which photos are most productive on styles. Manage Shoot Sample process.
• Manage Triangle Agenda. Add topics as applicable, recap notes for tea,.
• Shop key market and fashion leaders via stores and websites, research trends, gather information, and present key learnings.
• Maintain organized and effective file system.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Flexible and adaptable, adjusts easily to changing priorities
• Able to manage tasks and projects simultaneously
• Quick, clear verbal and written communication skills
• Detail oriented with strong organizational skills

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• 1 – 3 years of merchandise management experience

Our wonderful client; and we work only with wonderful clients; seeks a part-time/consulting Marketing Coordinator to assist with production and assembly of proposals and presentations. 

They are a renowned architecture firm in the San Francisco Bay area dedicated to historic preservation. The firm has worked on numerous award-winning projects, including the Ferry Building, the Leland Stanford Mansion, and the Historic Preservation Plan for the City of Charleston, SC.  They have always provided clients with a high level of service and thoughtful solutions. In addition to architecture and preservation, the firm practices architectural history, planning and conservation.
 
Primary responsibilities include:
§  Assist with assembling proposal and qualification responses, requires coordinating with principals for required materials
§  Provide marketing support to regional offices (Los Angeles & Sacramento)
§  Presentations for interviews

The candidate must:
§  Be able to assist in analyzing RFP/Qs (Request For proposals / Qualifications) and developing targeted response.
§  Be highly organized and able to manage several tasks simultaneously.
§  Have strong attention to detail.
§  Be able to work in a fast paced, team-oriented environment.

Marketing Project Coordinator/Manager - 5 to 6 months contract position

Our client, a Fortune 100 Company, is one of the largest food and drug retailers in North America with 1,600+ stores.  We are hiring a Temporary Project Manager in their Shopper Marketing division.
This position is located in Pleasanton, California and is effective from 11/01/2012-4/19/2013. 
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
            Develop, communicate and execute shopper engaging, cost effective, ROI positive strategies and promotions to build and defend our market share against competitive activity. These strategies are developed with the analysis of Syndicated Data, Internal Sales and Proprietary Market & Consumer Insights Data, including internal and external real estate data.
            Develop and execute Regional Specific Marketing Programs. Analyze multiple internal and external data sources to develop these plans. Then continue to use these multifaceted data sets in the on-going evaluation and adjustment of the plans.
            Leverage past experiences (CPG, retail, agency, etc) to proactively self-educate around retail and marketing industry trends / best practices to identify opportunities that are consistent with, and reinforce, our client’s brand and have strong market potential.
            Both actively participate in and lead a team in being the last line of defense for flawless execution, working with the Business Units, Media, Creative and Production to insure seamless integration and execution across all mediums and communication points.
            Development of communication for advertising plans, programs and promotions to ensure flawless execution at retail level.
            Special Projects as assigned
Qualifications:
            Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or related field preferred.
            2 - 3 years Retail Advertising and Marketing experience.
            - 2 + years retail or Regional/Division Support experience preferred.
            Management experience preferred.
            1-2 years of analytical experience preferred.
            Strong project management experience.
            Excellent Interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively within and across teams.
            Excellent communication skills that can be effectively articulated in both written and oral forms.
            Analytically orientated creative problem solver who can incorporate new learning into existing plans and act decisively.

                  4-year art school with B.F.A in Graphic Design or Advertising.
