Assistant Copy Producer needed in Midtown, NYC

You will be responsible for assisting the Copy Production Department on the preparation of catalogue files with product information. Organize data and preps documents in InDesign through use of merchant folders and factsheets. Including picking up existing copy and entering copy facts into InDesign document. Proofread assigned catalogues against the Mainframe database for factual accuracy at each distribution. Support Copy Production team on trafficking and execution of assigned catalogues.

This role is data entry and reverse data entry (checking pages against a source).

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Organizes and enters product information on page through use of merchant folders and factsheets
• Format text on new items; on old items, pick up recent copy from most current media and format appropriately
• Communicate unresolved issues on folder/factsheet to Copy Producer
• Proofreads assigned catalogues against the Mainframe database for factual accuracy at each distribution

• Able to thrive in a fast-paced, high pressure, deadline oriented environment
• Must be detail oriented and organized

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• Bachelor’s degree in English, or related area
• Minimum of 1 years work experience in a copy, trafficking, publishing or related detail oriented field required
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Fluency in Mac/InDesign – with experience creating documents and using style sheets, typesetting and making heavy corrections within InDesign for publications
• Previous fashion/retail background preferred, but not limited to catalogue experience
• Understanding of typesetting, art and production terminology
• Data entry
• Proofreading knowledge

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Must be able to read and write English
• Ability to operate a computer

Digital Producers needed in Midtown, NYC ASAP!

2 Digital Producers are needed for a 3 month contract in Midtown West. The project will start as soon as possible. 

We would love to place you with our client, a large successful fashion retailer.

  • 3-5+ years’ experience as a Project Manager/Producer (2+ years within the ecommerce space).
  • Proven record of delivering projects efficiently, reduce variables that impede progress, and help our client to achieve consistent levels of performance.
  • Solid understanding of Online/E-Commerce: web usability, information architecture, navigation, interaction and user interface design, database programming, and targeted emails.
  • Some experience with a major consumer brand (agency experience acceptable)

POSITION DESCRIPTION: 

Responsible for managing and designing web merchandising and internet business initiatives. Executes site launches, e-marketing creative, and special Web initiatives from conception to completion. Manages and develops Web Design and production staff.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Design and produce site launches, emails, and special projects/presentations  
  • Conceptualize online presentation for seasonal initiatives (there are several features and campaigns that are unique to the web that AADs must conceptualize and design, i.e. Denim guide, bra fit guide, online promotions) 
  • Understand the creative and marketing objectives for each project assigned 
  • Edit film for Web photography 
  • Attend merchant turn-in meeting for each site assigned.
  • Partner with marketing and merchant partners to design brand-right layouts for the Web with an eye to performance and ease of use 
  • Work with Senior Art Director and Web Design team to extend and optimize Web functionality, site architecture, user interface and navigation 
  • Attract, retain and develop Graphic Design and production staff 
  • Manage temporary help or freelancers as assigned 
  • Ensure deadlines for assigned projects are met 
  • Produce, optimize and output final Web-ready digital artwork in support of site updates 
  • Maintain absolute accuracy and attention to detail throughout the creative and production process 
  • Maintain and update content templates to ensure accurate and efficient design production

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Impeccable design fundamentals (type, image, color)

  • Working knowledge Illustrator, & InDesign 
  • Flash Animation/Flash Actionscript a plus 
  • Knowledge of best practices for Web image optimization 
  • Understanding of the capabilities and best practices relating to the use of front-end Web technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Flash, AJAX
  • Motion graphics & video editing experience for web (After Effects & Final Cut Pro)

Designer - Assistant - Color & Print needed ASAP in Midtown, NYC

Would you like to work for one of our large retail clients in NYC?

They are seeking an Associate Print and Color Technologist position responsible for the quality of colors and fabrics including garments and components to assure final product quality. Assist in the technical development, pre-production and cataloguing of all fabrics and colors through to production. Visit company stores on regular basis to monitor the quality and consistency of fabrics and color under store lighting conditions to apply standards of performance and color control, including garments and components. Ensures the fabric library contains the catalogued fabric standards and samples. Support the testing of fabrics and garment components in our internal testing laboratory.

RESPONSIBILITIES:


• Break down and pitch prints.

• Work with Print designers so that their vision is translated into the fabric
• Work with the CAD designers to put prints into repeat and to make sure designers’ vision is understood.
• Execution of seasonal print vender pass off packages that meet VS Brand standards
• Maintain Embroidery and Embellishment Layout information for VSP and Vender Base
• Enter all prints into the PDM system to develop Cover Sheets and Tracking Reports
• Put in print trials for each season and than follow through and report results back to the business
• Communicate with partners in the business all printing issues and problems
• Chase all print approvals so that we stay on calendar
• Check all repeats and layouts for all print submissions across the globe
• Make color comments on all prints being printed in the western Hemisphere
• Submit all approved western hemisphere prints to the Columbus’s textile team- so they can approve bulk on your comments.

QUALIFICATIONS:


• Understand the Printing and ENGRAVING Process and many of the printing techniques used now.

- Understand how to break down screens on watercolors to printable version.
• Have a good color eye
• Two to Four years related to Print and Color
• Demonstrate strong, consistent problem solving abilities, communicate effectively with business partners achieving desired results
• Keen written, verbal and electronic communication skills, computer proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• Ability to be a team player and foster a commitment to teamwork and other associates

Proofreads assigned catalogues against the Mainframe database for factual accuracy at each distribution. Ensure projects and assigned media are complete based on the dates on the publishing calendar. Assist Director in communicating copy and procedure standards and changes. Partner with Director, Publishing on reviewing the copy process and evolving it based on business need; as well as the use of new technology.
