This person/manager is a
supply chain superstar with that “special something” – passion for both people
and purchasing. You are primarily
responsible for managing the overall
packaing supplier qualification process, creating sourcing plans, supplier
analysis, recommending purchasing and sourcing decisions to management, and the
package design process. This position is all about owning the process and
having fun doing it.

Manage all
packaging and raw materials sourcing.

Supporting new
packaging and design initiatives.
·
Manage new supplier qualifications.
·
Manage and measure suppliers for continuous performance and improvement.
·
Lead and support problem solving efforts and hands-on involvement in
production operations.
·
Coordinate raw material testing and analysis to support new supplier
qualifications.
·
Partner with
operations, technical teams, and suppliers to develop/document well-defined
specifications producing cost-effective, quality products.

Provide inovative insight into new package design initiatives &
problem solving skills.

Analyze,
develop, and implement key cost savings initiatives throughout all commodity
lines, co-manufactured products, fixed assets, and service providers.

Successfully launch new products with innovative design and
capabilities.

Develop cost
standards in conjunction with operations, suppliers, and finance.

Fully integrate and own the packaging design process.

QUALIFICATIONS & ATTRIBUTES
·
5+ years
experience in purchasing as it relates to packaging. Bachelor’s Degree
preferred.
·
Proven track record on managing commodities.
·
Experience
utilizing ERP systems
·
Demonstrated
experience in applying common procurement processes and supplier management.
·
Knowledge of raw
materials, food production processes, quality control, costs, and other
purchasing related processes.
·
Good
organizational skills; problem solving skills; multi-tasking; flexible and able
to manage multiple projects. Must have strong analytical and mathematical
skills.
·
Demonstrated
success in working in a cross-functional, team oriented environment.
·
Ability to work
well under pressure and provide follow-up with strong attention to detail.
·
Superior
communication skills to handle all facets of strong supply chain partner
relationships.
·
Proven supplier relationship skills & contract negotiation skills.
