Contract start date: 11/5/12
Contract end date: 3/4/13

POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Assistant Merchant will assist & execute the leadership strategy for the merchandise assortment, may own a small category; support development of brand-right product that leverages intuitive client insights and business strategy. Aid in delivering financial results and maximizing volume/profit through systems management and seamless execution; pattern & understand the competition and relevant trends; partner with cross-functional team; take direction under immediate supervision, exercising a minimal degree of autonomy/decision making.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Complete appropriate pulls to support team in Monday Night Merch Presentation. Complete a portion of ISO for a category or media of focus.
• Assist Associate and Merchant in creating seasonal strategy
• Manage documentation to assist in Target Setting Meetings with Planning and Design
• Partner with Associate on and Merchant on hindsighting an area of the business.
• Organize samples, swatches in preparation for Pagination
• Review and attend meeting with Creative Interface. Partner with Planning to ensure all styles, retails, swatches are set up correctly.
• Manage Fact Sheet process; print fact sheets for samples, and PDF fact sheets for Copy, organize shoot samples as paginated by book, update digital folder and Missing Sample list.
• Manage photo assets by book, recommend which photos are most productive on styles. Manage Shoot Sample process.
• Manage Triangle Agenda. Add topics as applicable, recap notes for tea,.
• Shop key market and fashion leaders via stores and websites, research trends, gather information, and present key learnings.
• Maintain organized and effective file system.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• 1 – 3 years of merchandise management experience
• Experience in dealing with vendors
• Experience in the Fashion Industry
• Must be Computer proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
