Would you like to work for one of our large retail clients in NYC?
They are seeking an Associate Print and Color Technologist position responsible for
the quality of colors and fabrics including garments and components to
assure final product quality. Assist in the technical development,
pre-production and cataloguing of all fabrics and colors through to
production. Visit company stores on regular basis to monitor the
quality and consistency of fabrics and color under store lighting
conditions to apply standards of performance and color control,
including garments and components. Ensures the fabric library contains
the catalogued fabric standards and samples. Support the testing of
fabrics and garment components in our internal testing laboratory.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Break down and pitch prints.
• Work with Print designers so that their vision is translated into the fabric
• Work with the CAD designers to put prints into repeat and to make sure designers’ vision is understood.
• Execution of seasonal print vender pass off packages that meet VS Brand standards
• Maintain Embroidery and Embellishment Layout information for VSP and Vender Base
• Enter all prints into the PDM system to develop Cover Sheets and Tracking Reports
• Put in print trials for each season and than follow through and report results back to the business
• Communicate with partners in the business all printing issues and problems
• Chase all print approvals so that we stay on calendar
• Check all repeats and layouts for all print submissions across the globe
• Make color comments on all prints being printed in the western Hemisphere
• Submit all approved western hemisphere prints to the Columbus’s textile team- so they can approve bulk on your comments.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Understand the Printing and ENGRAVING Process and many of the printing techniques used now.
- Understand how to break down screens on watercolors to printable version.
• Have a good color eye
• Two to Four years related to Print and Color
• Demonstrate strong, consistent problem solving abilities, communicate effectively with business partners achieving desired results
• Keen written, verbal and electronic communication skills, computer proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• Ability to be a team player and foster a commitment to teamwork and other associates

This is a 6 month contract. Starting immediately!
