The Senior Healthcare Writer is a full-time contract position (40 hours per week) starting immediately with an internal marketing team within HR of a large financial institution in downtown San Francisco for a duration of 5 months minimum with a strong possibility of extension.
Responsibilities include planning, editing, and writing of documents and communications related to healthcare and health and wellness. These materials include Plan Descriptions, Changes and Modifications, as well as related communications such as announcements and introductory letters. The person in this position will not only manage the writing and editing of these highly complex communications, but will also write materials that help communicate benefits- and policy-related details to a broader employee audience.
You will work closely with clients and business partners, specifically the subject matter experts from the Benefits group (and related groups), to gather the necessary information for the policy communications, to manage the editorial and review process, and to gain final approval of all materials. In some cases, communications will be developed on the basis of materials provided by such government agencies as the Internal Revenue Service and the U.S. Department of Labor, as well as state and local governments, so familiarity with these agencies’ regulatory requirements is highly desirable but not mandatory.

· Manage and resolve competing and multi-tiered editorial feedback with timeliness, efficiency, and accuracy

· Review, resolve, and/or escalate based on feedback and issues
· Provide regular project updates to management
Day to day, the Writer will:
· Develop and revise print and online content based on project goals
· Work with clients to ensure that all appropriate subject matter experts have reviewed and signed off on all drafts of the content
· Work with the Editor to ensure that all content adheres to established standards
· Work with Design and Production teams to manage execution and completion of project deliverables
· Engage in necessary follow-up and post-project review
· Contribute to ongoing development of standards
